CampusOS, 17.-21. April 2023 @ Hannover Messe
The past week @ Hannover Messe, was sustainable and important for the CampusOS project. The response, the interest and the in-depth discussions were a good start and we are excited about a successful presentation of the CampusOS project. CampusOS presented itself with first results in the 5G Arena @Hannover Messe from April 17 to 21. High-performance digital communication infrastructures - i.e. campus networks - are vital for the operation of modern companies. The two flagship projects CampusOS & 5G-OPERA, funded by BMWK, demonstrate the added value of 5G in various application scenarios, such as Industry 4.0, logistics and robotics, smart hospital or disaster control and firefighting. CampusOS is complemented by six application projects: 5G++ FlexiCell, CampusDynA, KliNet5G, MAVERIC, O5G-N-IoT, TICCTEC
The focus of CampusOS is to support the ecosystem for open and modular 5G campus networks and to create a technology building block based on open radio technologies and interoperable network components. This includes the development of required reference architectures, the establishment of test infrastructures for compatible components, and the development of viable operator models. Our 22 partners from industry and research work together in the CampusOS network. The six application projects are demonstrating the performance and viability of the approach based on industry-specific solutions in their fields of application.
We would like to thank the partners for their top-class talks and panels:
→ Democratization of 5G in the countryside: Temporary 5G campaign networks using
Dr. Bernd Schröder, brown-iposs GmbH
→ Panel: The 5G Private Network Ecosystem: Status and Growth Opportunities
Moderation: Prof. Dr. Erich Zielinski
Panel: Vertical drivers for Open 5G Campus Networks Panel
→Talk: CampusOS component catalogue for planning and operation of open campus networks
Dr. Martin Kasparick, Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute, HHI
